Making underground salt mining come alive virtually /K+S Gruppe VR loader

For the German mining company,K+S Gruppe, our recording team was 900m under the earth’s surface.

In close cooperation with the technical visualization company CMC Engineers, our goal was to develop the sound engine for an innovative and realistic simulator, which is now used for employee training purposes. Through technical visualization and complex sound technology, underground salt mining is brought to life via the VR loader.

Our overarching sound design supports the virtual imagery, while providing additional orientation and thus auditorily optimizing driver training. Listen to the characteristic sounds of salt mining such as the brakes, gas, collisions, shovel conditions of the loader.
