Electric cars – The sound of silence

Volume up, please! An EU decree makes car manufacturers provide their electronic vehicles with suitable engine sounds. We had broadcaster Deutsche Welle over to answer how sound designers can emulate engine noise with fantastic results.

Lars and Carl-Frank also point out why electric mobility shouldn’t just follow the conventions of buzzing combustion engines – and advise car companies to add their own sound to our sonic environment.
