The sound of mobile payment

Sound DNA creation for the payment app Yapital

Task

The idea was to create individual sounds for YAPITAL’s app in order to convey a typical YAPITAL feeling to the user and create an emotional connection to the app.

Approach

We created a Sound DNA, which is the central musical element of all commissioned music created for YAPITAL. The 3 parts of the visual logo and the name YA – PI – TAL is represented in a 3-note DNA. It consists of a series of the notes a`, a`, c“ and can be interpreted by any instrument.

To underline the warm, positive and comfortable feel of the brand, we created a sound atmosphere. The app sounds (open, scan, pay, error, receive, close) give the applications the typical YAPITAL feel that leads to an emotional attachment between the product and its user.

We also created a music toolbox, which is a set of flexible and easy to use YAPITAL style sound assets. The music toolbox tracks can be used as they can easily be adapted for all kinds of applications and will always be clearly recognisable as YAPITAL sound.

Result

The combination of the Sound DNA, sound atmosphere and the music toolbox lead to a unique sound of mobile payment of YAPITAL, which is easy to implement.
