EV Zug – Crafting the sound of the Triple Swiss Ice Hockey Champions

Strengthening brand identity with Audio Branding

In close collaboration with the Brand Management of EV Zug, we developed a unique acoustic brand profile for the current Swiss ice hockey champion. The strategic brand sound concept aimed to strengthen the claim “Meh als Iissport” (More than just ice sport) through a sound identity, making it understandable internally and externally.

The composition principle: Uniting Vision and Ice Sport

The EVZ Sound connects the entrepreneurial vision and ice sport. The composition is characterized by confidence, dynamism, and power – an acoustic interpretation of an unstoppable team. The ambition to be a driving force for the region, both economically and culturally, was implemented as a central compositional element.

Tradition meets modern entrepreneurship

The fusion of Zug tradition and modern entrepreneurship was crucial. Traditional Swiss instruments such as the alphorn and sonic colors merge with modern sound aesthetics. The unique composition combines the speed and power of ice sports with a touch of homeland, positioning EVZ differentially in national and international competition and creating an acoustic reference to its origin.

Modular and scalable sound

Another success factor of EVZ sound lies in its modularity and scalability. The developed Brand Music is a rich musical sound landscape, with elements used in various touchpoints – whether in the local Bossard Arena, on social media, or in videos. The flexibility allows for quick adjustments, ensuring a consistent yet variable presentation of the brand sound. The EV Zug brand sound can thus be recognized and specifically designed in all relevant future communication channels.

Results and Outlook

EV Zug now presents itself not only as a dominant force on the ice but also as an audio brand that stands out with a unique sound from other clubs.

The introduction of the EVZ Sound not only excites the team but also the fans. Reactions in the arena, on social media, and in videos are extremely positive. EV Zug has succeeded not only in defending its championship title but also in establishing a brand sound that provides fans and all other stakeholders with additional emotional identification.
