“With the sound installation Space/Form/Chance I would like to make the complex reciprocal influences of sound in space playfully tangible and show which interdisciplinary design potentials thus arise for the creation of spaces of cultural and social experience. In the context of Raumwelten / platform for scenography, architecture and media, Lars Ohlendorf invites all participants to engage with sound forms and “sound as space” on an abstract level.

Sound forms, just like geometric forms from architecture, are visuo-spatial concepts and are processed and associated in perception in the same way as visual stimuli. This explains the interaction between sound and spatial perception, and behavior in space.

If we critically examine existing forms of sound – but also those that we create through architecture – we can design spaces, places and squares more harmoniously.
