AIM / Audiovisual Immersive Maps

Platform for an immersive, virtual experience of our entire world

Platforms like Google Earth & Google Streetview allow users to explore a 3D image of the world with VR glasses. This is great, however – how do these places sound? Because these applications are silent so far!

With our current R&D project, that’s where we come in: With AIM, we want to enable users to experience fully immersive virtual travel with 3D sound for the first time.

From sound integration in Streetview to high-resolution 3D scans of buildings, districts or cities. AIM makes real places virtually tangible also through hearing – in the browser, on the smartphone, in 3D glasses or in the VR room.

AIM is funded by the Innovation Program for Business Models and Pioneer Solutions of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy.
